Reading groups and recommended reads

Our libraries stock a fantastic range of books and we are happy to recommend the best reads and keep you informed of new stock as well as reading group sets (.pdf, 3972Kb)

 

There are lots of reading groups, author visits and stock promotion for you to get involved in.

 

Books on prescription

The books on prescription scheme help with a range of commonly experienced mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety and stress. They have been chosen by specialist health professionals, counsellors and academics.

 

Reading groups

Do you like to read and chat with other book lovers?  We have twelve reading groups which meet monthly. New members are always welcome.

 

Groups are free of charge and open to all - just drop in refreshments are provided each group chooses which books to read. (This is usually done a couple of months in advance). Books are free to borrow.

 

Reading group locations and dates

 

  • Harlesden Library Plus Group - 2nd Monday of each month 3-4pm PlusBIZ reading group (Black interest zone)This group meet to discuss books by black authors or books influenced by black culture, history and musicMeet the last Monday of the month 6.30 - 7.45pm
  • Kilburn Library Group - 3rd Thursday of the month 6.45-7.45pm
  • Kingsbury Library Plus - Last Friday of the month from 11am-12pm
  • Town Hall Library Group - Last Thursday of each month 6.30-7.30pm.
  • Virtual Book Club
  • Willesden Green Library Group -  2nd Sunday of each month 2-4pm, Book Circle - last Tuesday of the month 6.30-7.45pm, Gujarati Reading Group, first floor, first Saturday of the month from 2.30 to 4pm, Tamil reading group, last Saturday of the month 2.30-4.30pm
