How the council is organised - Council departments

In the structure of the council, after the elected representatives, the council is organised into departments.

These are:

• Chief Executive's Office which oversees and co-ordinates all council activity at a strategic level.
• Children and Families which is responsible for services such as schools, adoption and the welfare of children and young people.
• Environment and Neighbourhood Services which is responsible for services such as parking, recycling, arts and libraries.
• Regeneration and Major Projects which is responsible for services such as housing, planning and the regeneration of Brent.
• Finance and Corporate Services which is responsible for services such as council tax, information technology and housing benefits.
• Customer and Community Engagement which is responsible for services such as consultation, customer services and The Brent Magazine.
• Strategy, Partnerships and Improvement which is responsible for services such as the corporate strategies and Community Safety.
• Legal and Procurement which is responsible for services such as councillors and elections.

In addition to these departments we also have an Adult Social Services division, which provides support to vulnerable adults.
